Episode 115: Cuarentena Cooking

As most of the world is restricting our movements (You’re restricting your movements yeah? Quedándote en casa? GOOD.), a lot of people are doing more cooking than they have ever done during these cuarentena times. Whether you’re an expert home cook trying to relish in some extra time to take on that ambitious culinary project or a reluctant new chef despairing at the near-constant decision-making required to feed yourself, one thing will always make cooking better: music. Esta semana we have some of what we’ve been listening to while cooking this cuarentena to get your own cuarentena cooking playlists started. Our love to our gente out there who are essential workers keeping the world going, those of you who are working to recover from illness, and any of you who have lost people during this awful time. Cuídense, beibis.

Featuring music by Frankie Ruiz, Cauty, Johnny Ventura, Empress Of, Aniceto Molina, and Diego Raposo ft. Medio Picky, CeQuei, and Baldera.

Things we mentioned on the episode:

  • Empress Of’s adorable mom, seen here recording some of the dialogue heard throughout her new album. She has her own (extremely geniusly named) IG of the clothes she makes for her daughter: @LatinaKnowles

  • The food IG accounts that Vero loves AKA the Bon Appétit family: their main account, Basically, Healthyish

  • Vero’s own personal and evolving cuarentena playlist
